Located near the Alabama/Mississippi border, Respect Camp is situated on 80 acres of lush green surroundings. The cadets live in barracks with their Platoon and receive instruction on basic cadet skills which include drill, marching, fitness, inspections and barracks procedures. Cadets wear uniforms. Respect Camp has strict rules and follows a regimented daily structure, all designed to teach discipline. The philosophy behind our boot camp is based upon respect. Respect Camp is designed to teach respect. This includes respect for others, property, self, authority figures, as well as respect for rules and expectations. The boot camp offers a military-type regimentation including a strong set of rules with high expectations and follow through. Failure to follow rules or commands will bring immediate consequences. Cadets quickly develop a solemn respect for rules, orders, and authority figures. The camp is also physically challenging with a significant amount of marching on a daily basis. Through this process, cadets develop a newfound respect for themselves and others. One of the biggest problems facing today's teens is the lack of respect. General overall respects of teens in schools, communities, and homes have significantly diminished in recent years. Many teens are showing blatant lack of respect for parents, rules, property, or others. Consequently these teens ultimately do not respect themselves. Our goal at Respect Camp is to help teens instill proper respect in their lives through the time honored principles of discipline, protocol and obedience that are so aptly applied in the military. Respect camp is a military-like boot camp where teens learn to obey commands, show respect, and follow protocol. This is then practiced and drilled over again until it becomes ingrained. |
